Unlike other States/Territories, where the private sector (via private health insurance/private hospitals) and the Commonwealth (via MBS/PPS) are major contributors to health services funding, health services in the
Territory are almost entirely dependent upon funding from the Territory Government. This places the Territory Government at particular risk in terms of future demands for increased health expenditure.
