This is a narrative, primarily a personal perspective on clinical medicine in the Northern Territory (NT), rather than a historical document. The focus is on Internal Medicine, as viewed through the eyes of a practising physician. It does not attempt to fully cover Community or Public Health. That issue was comprehensively documented by Sister Ellen Kettle in her 1991 publication Health Services in the Northern Territory.
