Improving the health and wellbeing of Territorians is the primary goal of the Department of Health and Community Services. The Department of Health and Community Services is focused on delivering high quality care and under the terms of the Australian Health Care Agreement the Northern Territory Government is committed to a process of continuous quality improvement.
This Quality and Performance Framework will assist in the assessment and evaluation of how effective the health system is in delivering quality services. The Department of Health and Community Services has the responsibility to use the existing sources of information or generate new information, apply appropriate analysis and evaluation, and to monitor the performance of the health system. Through the above, consumers will be able to be better informed about health and community services in the Northern Territory.
