Abstract
The Entomology Section has examined and mapped all the mosquito breeding areas in the proximity of the city of Darwin, with the exception of residential backyard mosquito breeding sites. This has involved searching for and examining mosquito breeding sites throughout Darwin and recording the numbers of species and times of occurance of mosquitoes over a number of years. The four major mosquito breeding areas are Leanyer Swamp, Coconut Grove Swamp, Marrara Swamp and Casuarina Swamp, and these have been examined in detail.
This report details the mosquito breeding sites, listing their priority for attention and examines measures for the elimination or control of these sites.
