Abstract
The Darwin Rural District as a division of the Northern Territory Department of Health evolved to its present form in a series of developmental stages during the mid-eighties. In it's early beginnings, the Darwin Rural District commenced initially as the Rural Health Branch Team (RHBT) in 1986. At this stage, the team comprised District Medical Officers, Aerial Medical Nurses Rural/Community-based nursing staff, Aboriginal. Health Workers, Administrative support staff, and a number of Allied Health Professionals.
