Since 1982 a questionnaire has been sent annually to all nurses registered and enrolled with the Northern Territory Nurses Registration Board when Annual Practising Certificates (APC's) become due for renewal. Recipients are requested to complete and return the questionnaire, to assist in monitoring the nursing
workforce and to provide a profile of nurses registered and enrolled in the Territory.
In 1987 the response rate was 58.6%. Previous years response rates have varied from 93.1% in 1982 to 55.6% in 1985. Despite what may appear to be a poor response, analysis of those responses indicates that the majority were from nurses employed as nurses in the Northern Territory.
