HACC services deal with a wide variety of clients and problems.
However, the priority training requirements are common to all
services. These are; recruitment and training of volunteers;
grief counselling and working with the terminally ill; basic
first aid; communicating and listening skills; ethics and
confidentiality. Other areas of training requirements relevant
to several HACC services are: normalisation; dementia; nutrition
and food preparation; lifting and transfer of incapacitated
clients and personal care.
