Abstract
Bowel dysfunctions, including constipation, faecal impaction, and incontinence, are common in the elderly and can lead to significant morbidity, prolonged hospital stays, and increased healthcare costs. Up to 81% of hospitalized elderly experience constipation due to factors like reduced intake, dehydration, immobility, opioid use, and lack of privacy (Linton & Trust, 2014; IMPACT, 2010).
