Abstract
This plan is the product of a Strategic Business Risk Assessment (SBRA) exercise conducted by Risk Management Services through a structured interview process with key staff in 2001. The SBRA details the Contexts, Areas of Impact and Sources of Risk, with this providing the data used to complete the Cause & Effect Matrix. This shows the inter-relationship between the Department of Health and Community Services (DHCS) identified risks, and can allow effective review of a small number of discrete risk areas rather than a long list of individual risks. Additionally, it targets cause, rather than effect. Through this process, any reviews undertaken to address risk would provide DHCS with greater and more effective coverage of primary causal risk areas.
