Background/Introduction NT Health Library Services is committed to growing the research capacity and capability of NT Health staff while promoting the research profile of the organisation. The Research Support Week grew from a strategic planning day in 2024 as a way of achieving a number of our objectives. Objectives 1. To connect NT Health staff undertaking research to the services the library team and other work areas can provide 2. To build a research community that can share and engage with each other 3. To launch and promote the new repository – “NT Health Research and Publications Online” through a Showcase event Methods We developed a program after meeting with key stakeholders in late 2024. The program revolved around an in-person Showcase morning and the week included lightning talks, guest speakers and a research poster competition. We also created a significant marketing strategy for promotion. Results The Research Support Week was held from 24-28 March 2025. Two librarians delivered a number of the sessions and guest speakers included: Epidemiologists, Clinical Analysts, the Research Governance team, the Chief Allied Health Officer, the Director of Nursing and Midwifery, the Head of Cardiorespiratory Medicine and our Chief Executive. We also held a pop-up Library at Royal Darwin Hospital staff café and a promotional walk-around at Alice Springs Hospital. The Showcase morning was a highlight. Over the five days we held 15 sessions and had 150 staff attend. The research poster competition attracted 10 entries, with three prize winners. Conclusion This presentation will share the journey of our Research Support Week – how we engaged with those involved in research projects across NT Health, as well as fostering a research community and the lessons we learnt along the way. |
