Abstract
ROYAL DARWIN HOSPITAL NURSING SERVICE PHILOSOPHY
WE BELIEVE
In the dignity of the patient as a person, a member of a family and society and, that care should be considered in relation to physical, mental, social and spiritual needs.
Patients are entitled to receive the best possible care irrespective of race, creed or status.
Nurses are members of a multidisciplinary team assisting the patient to achieve his/her highest potential state of health.
Death is a natural process and people have the right to die in peace and with dignity.
The nursing service should support, promote and participate in activities related to research and education for the improvement of health and nursing.
Nurses should provide an efficient, comprehensive and cost effective nursing service with the resources available.
Nurses have an obligation to maintain confidentiality in the pursuance of their duties.
