Abstract
Student nurse education and work experience in infection control introduction to and explanation of aims of infection control:
1) Practical system for surveillance of infections among patients and personnel, to distinguish between nosocomial and community acquired infections.
2) Attempt to identify the reservoir, source and mode of transmission of each outbreak of nosocomial infection and to initiate appropriate control measures.
3) To ensure adequate isolation procedures are undertaken.
4) To develop hospital infection control policies.
5) Conduct oversight of antibiotic therapy.
6) Conduct oversight of all areas in hospital in regard to infection control.
