Abstract
In February 1996 the Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC) instructed Heads of Aboriginal Health Units (HAHU) from government authorities to develop broad performance indicators that jurisdictions could use to measure effort and progress in tackling Aboriginal health.
