Abstract
The initial assessment of the waste management plan for the Berrimah stock holding yard (10 February 1993) by the Medical Entomology Branch concluded that it had a great capacity to cause mosquito breeding. Recommendations to reduce potential problems were made and incorporated into the revised waste management plan (22 April 1993). The final recommendation of the revised plan was that it be reviewed after the facility had been in operation for 12 months.
To fulfil this condition a joint inspection of the yards was conducted on 17 February by representatives of DPI&F (Mr Ian Quin), CCNT (Mr Michael Ward, Ms Bridget Wijnberg) and DH&CS - Medical Entomology Branch (Mr Brian Montgomery). Representatives were escorted around the yards by the Executive Officer for N. T. Exports (Mr Ross Ainsworth) and the onsite supervisor (Mr Ron Diamond).
