Abstract
Following the definition, refinement and pilot implementation of the Primary Care Information System (PCIS) by the Northern Territory Department of Health and Community Services, an independent evaluation was commissioned to gain the confidence and commitment of the DHCS Executive and Health Services Program prior to further development and deployment.
The independent evaluation was required to determine:
• The PCIS system usability, functional capabilities and system readiness; and
• The PCIS system management, training and implementation strategies
to determine the suitability and capability of the clinical information and patient recall system, that supports primary care service delivery and chronic disease management.
