This booklet is meant as an introduction for health and other personnel to the important role that mosquitoes play in the Northern Territory. Mosquito control may be clearly necessary in some instances, such as when plagues of the salt marsh mosquito occur. In other instances those species that pose potential problems may
not be so obvious. For this reason an assessment of mosquito problems is needed as a guide to decide if control is necessary.
