Abstract
Royal Darwin Hospital services a number of patients who present with dysphagia and disorders of oral dysfunction. Dysphagia is the term used to describe a difficulty in swallowing. Dysphagia can occur for a number of reasons such as C.V.A., head injury, oral surgery, neurological/degenerative disease, lead encephalopathy and cerebal palsy. The appropriate diagnosis, assessment and management of this problem is an integral part of team management in the provision of quality care to patients.
