Health promotion service for the Northern Territory | Northern Territory. Dept. of Health.
Abstract
This paper is a proposal for the further development of Health Promotion Services in the Northern Territory.
It is an extension to the paper prepared by Judy and Malcolm Whyte in the Northern Territory - October 1984
( Appendix 1). Presently Health Promotion Officers are in Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Alice Springs. To
date there is no Health Promotion Officer working specifically in the Aboriginal area or in Tennant Creek. The promotion of good health in these areas is mainly being carried out by aboriginal healthworkers, nurses and welfare workers but without any great level of co-ordination.
