The current mosquito breeding situation in Katherine is indicated in the attached report "Vector Mosquito · Survey Katherine 16-19 February 1982". The report confirms that Katherine is free of Aedes aegypti, a dengue mosquito, but highlights the need for action to reduce the receptivity of Katherine to the reintroduction of this vector, as well as eliminating or controlling other important sources of vector mosquitoes.
