People often ask why have orientation. The simple answer to that is we want all staff to see the big picture. Remote Area staff need to share information and ideas between the different teams so that everyone can benefit from them. No section of a remote area health service works in isolation and we need to develop our team spirit together. A multidisciplinary orientation lays the foundation to enable staff to achieve this common goal.
This guide is part of the orientation process, which helps new staff learn about our organisation and how we do things around here. Its aim is to make you aware of some of the local issues and considerations implicit in providing Health Services in the Top End of the Northern Territory.
