Abstract
The two most common and troublesome filth flies in the Darwin area are CHRYSOMYIA, MEGACEPHALA, the green blow fly, and MUSCA DOMESTICA, the common housefly. These species, although not particularly numerous in the Darwin area when compared to other regions of Australia, do sometimes become more abundant than normal and result in public complaints.
