Abstract
Aboriginal Health Workers in the Northern Territory are beginning to manage their own Rural Health Programmes and basic clinical skills enable them to provide effective primary health care in their own communities.
There is a career structure and there are proposals for legal registration, so that Health Workers will really have to know all the Basic Skills. The good reputation of the training programme in the Northern Territory, will depend on all Health Workers being very well taught.
