Excerpt from Introduction: This factsheet describes cancer statistics for diagnoses in Northern Territory (NT) residents during 1992 to 2021. We present statistics on invasive cancers and the most common cancers. Cancer mortality rates (defined as the underlying cause of death) are presented for all invasive cancers and by cancer type and Aboriginal status. Cancer incidence and mortality profiles differ between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Territorians and sex. Knowledge of the differing cancer profiles among sub-populations in the NT remains critical for service and treatment planning.
