Abstract |
The Public Hospital Patient Charter is a part of the Northern Territory and Commonwealth Governments'
program to improve the delivery of hospital services to the public. Providing better information for health care consumers is a major commitment. The Charter is produced to provide people with straightforward information about public hospital services and what patients can expect under Medicare from the public hospital system, such as
• When charges may apply
• Access to medical records
• How patients can lodge a complaint if they are unhappy about their treatment in a public hospital
