This handbook was designed by the staff of Royal Darwin Hospital Pathology Laboratory primarily for the use of Resident Medical Officers of this hospital. But I hope it will be of use to other doctors and nurses whether in the hospital or in the community and to other hospitals and laboratories in the Territory.
The current edition has been produced at short notice because of shortage in supply of the handbook. We have made only minor modifications to the previous edition which includes a summary of the use of the Coulter Counter in Haematology.
