Australian Hepatitis and risk survey in prisons

Abstract
AusHep is a surveillance study conducted under a research framework that aims to establish an annual survey to estimate the prevalence of chronic HBV, HCV, and HIV infections  AusHep will capture important health and risk behavioural data from a cross sectional sample of approximately 2,400 prisoners from the Australian correctional system each year (approx.250 prisoners in NT based on the total prison population size). Each participant will complete a research nurse-led, tablet-based interview and also provide fingerprick blood and saliva samples for PoC testing for HCV, HBV, and HIV. The session will take approximately 30 minutes.
