The predominantly aboriginal community of Oenpelli is situated within Arnhem Land, close to the western boundary and approximately 240 km east of Darwin. Current population estimate for the community is about 500.
Two officers from the Medical Entomology Branch visited the community during the period 30th May to 1st June 1983 to conduct a vector mosquito survey and a survey for Aedes aegypti, the recognised vector of dengue fever virus in Australia.
