Abstract
The intention of the changes is to enhance the quality and responsiveness of
the services provided by the Territory’s public health and hospital system.
This will be achieved by empowering service providers to be in control of and
responsible for the services they provide and refocussing the Department of
Health to a more traditional policy, system planning and governance role.
