Abstract |
This package is designed to provide health providers working in remote areas with key knowledge and skills to incorporate into their health service delivery. It is comprised of adapted materials from the CDU Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health and incorporates Department of Health and Families and other materials. It consists of 8 modules: 1 introduction, 2 primary health care, 3 overview of child development and assessment tools, 4 physical and cognitive development including language, hearing, vision and oral health, 5 social and emotional development including attachment and Aboriginal child rearing practices, 6 psycho-social aspects of parenting: perinatal mental health, family violence and child abuse, 7 working in partnership and brief intervention strategies, 8 Healthy Under 5 Kids Program schedule.
