Abstract: | Wastewater treatment and disposal have been major sources of mosquitoes near urban areas in the Northern Territory (Whelan, 1981, 1984, 1988). Nutrient rich wastewater has the capacity to produce enormous numbers of mosquitoes, and as treatment facilities are sometimes located relatively close to residential areas, they can give rise to large and continuous problems from pest and vector mosquitoes. |
