    (Department of Health, 2019-03-04)
Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch
This Implementation Plan supports the Northern Territory Suicide Prevention Strategic Framework. Given that suicide is an issue that affects all our community, we are all responsible for its prevention. All groups and agencies across our community need to come together, with a coordinated and collaborative approach, making the best use of shared skills and resources. That includes health services, education, industry, housing, business, the legal and justice systems, emergency services, community based organisations, volunteer and sporting groups, the media, private sector and any other interested party.

    (2021-09-07)
    Infectious Diseases Department
This guideline is a reference document containing the rationale and extended information regarding the clinical management of potential occupational and non-occupational exposures to blood borne pathogens. This document should be used in conjunction with the Healthcare Worker Occupational Exposure Incident Management NT Health Guideline. A potential blood borne virus (BBV) exposure occurs when broken skin, conjunctiva or mucosa (oral or genital) is exposed to the blood or body fluids of another person. These include needle stick punctures, scalpel cuts, human bites, scrapes and cuts where the integrity of the skin or mucous membranes have been compromised, sexual contact and splashes of blood or body fluids including amniotic fluid. The purpose of this guideline is to ensure the prompt and appropriate assessment, management, reporting and follow-up of people who have been potentially exposed to BBV and other blood borne pathogens such as syphilis.

Medical Entomology Branch Annual report 1992-93
(Dept. of Health and Community Services, 1993)
    Northern Territory. Medical Entomology Branch.
There was a widespread Australian Encephalitis outbreak in the "Top End" of the Northern Territory this year following near record rainfall and a general rise in mosquitoes numbers. At least five cases of Australian Encephalitis due to Murray Valley Encephalitis virus were recorded, with additional suspect cases due to Kunjin virus. The branch responded with mosquito vector investigations at the various places of infection and the organization of mosquito control in risk communities and a Northern Territory wide public awareness program.
