Abstract
The Northern Territory Cancer Registry (NTCR) was established in 1981 by the Northern Territory Department of Health and Families to collect information about cancer in the NT.
Cancer was the leading cause of premature death in non-Aboriginal Territorians, and the second leading cause of premature death in Aboriginal Territorians.
The NTCR continues to provide essential evidence for overall cancer control and defining priorities to inform service delivery and policy.
