Abstract
Talking Culture is a community-based ear and hearing health education resource for children aged zero to 5 years. NT Hearing designed the resources to support teaching of ear health strategies and speech-language development. The resources can be used by: clinic staff, educators, and other health professionals.
About the resources: The resources have practical tips for families and communities, including:
keeping ears healthy through hygiene and nutrition; encouraging language development through play and interaction; discussing hearing concerns with families; using a speech screener that screens for both standard Australian English and Aboriginal English; anatomically correct images of ears; encouraging nose blowing and other healthy hearing habits.
